There is a job for you while you wait!

If you’re anything like me you like to get a lot done.  So when it comes to waiting, …most of us aren’t really happy. Whether it’s in line, a traffic stop or…well you fill in the blank.  But wait…for just a moment.  Could that inconvenience possibly be a divine opportunity?  I think most of us would agree the world moves at a pretty quick pace so why do we begrudge waiting?  What would happen if we embraced it?

When you’re waiting you’re usually stationary, able to view your surroundings…I know… for more time then you would prefer, but maybe that’s the point.  Maybe in all the waiting the Lord is trying to get you and I to pay attention.  Maybe he just has a job for us.

I was waiting in the car for my husband and well I was bored, frustrated, annoyed, and you could say just a bit bent out of shape.  But then I saw a woman in a truck next to me as she was about to drive away.  She had shut the door, placed her hands on the wheel and that’s when you know who got my attention.  Her hand was trembling…now I have no idea why but at that moment I felt impressed to pray.  I prayed for healing over anything in her life that was causing her to shake.  Now I don’t know what will ever become of that prayer but it wasn’t a wimpy prayer…it was one of those put the enemy in his place prayers if you know what I mean!  And then it happened again, the truck had no sooner left when another lady drove up, stepped out of her car and looked down…so what did I do?  I looked down at what she was looking down at and she was scraping up a penny that was stuck…curious I know!  Well now my God antennae were kind of on alert so I said okay Lord I’ll play this out with you…what do I pray for here?  Not really expecting much…my first mistake!  To my surprise I felt lead to pray for the stuck situations in this woman’s life, her family, where she worked…hmmm, curious.  Not sure what will become of this prayer but none-the-less I prayed believing He heard me.  So I think you’re getting it…When the Lord gives you and I time to wait…I think there just might be something we can do from being bored, frustrated, annoyed or just plain bent out of shape, yup you guessed it, pray.  Maybe we ought to use some of our wait time to simply look around.

You hear His voice.  You have wisdom and discernment and you certainly know how to pray…and before you know it you won’t be waiting anymore!  He’ll speak and you’ll have something to do.

If you believe each encounter is divine and from God then look around and pay close attention to the people in your path.  I think someone whether they know it or not is waiting and counting on you to be prayed for.  Something to think about!  Tami
